Paul Hammond writes, “No harm, no foul”. Well I suggest that if this is the preparation VCU provides for our future citizens and community leaders, then it falls far short of guaranteeing our hard fought for rights.

This is profiling — certainly well dressed executives are not being pulled over. And it was not apparently a result of “probable cause”. And certainly it seems to be discourteous and inappropriate behavior on the part of the police. To remain silent is only to acquiesce to this type of behavior, to reinforce this type of unseemly behavior.

VCU students should have the backbone to stand up to such.

I have a friend who is a student at VCU and has related to me a similar story. I hope you will make a formal protest to the VCU administration.

Police are public servants — it’s time to stand up for that concept. They should treat citizens with respect, not play macho games.
